Meet Shawn Harvey
My career started in the Marine Corps, where I served as a financial analyst managing unit budgets of $5 million a year. That's where I learned that accounting isn't something you cut corners on. When every dollar has to be tracked and accounted for, you develop habits that stay with you.
After leaving the Marines in 2015, I spent several years in government contracting. I helped migrate the Navy's accounting system as a subject matter expert, handled accounting for Special Operations Command Pacific, and served as project coordinator overseeing 15 government facility maintenance contracts in Hawaii. Every one of those roles reinforced the same thing. Systems matter. Accuracy matters. Follow-through matters.
I started Speak Easy Financial Services in 2021 to bring that same level of discipline to small businesses. I've also spent the last two years working as a QuickBooks Live expert, helping business owners across just about every industry you can think of. That experience, combined with my Advanced QBO ProAdvisor certification, means I can step into most businesses and get to work without a long learning curve.
